Results of Zagreb Random Pro Am
The Zagreb Random Pro Am, hosted by the Zagreb 2022 bid's organising team, was held on August 29th and 30th 2020 and comprised of 32 teams, some registered together and some randomly assigned as partnerships. The Chief Adjudication Panel consisted of Emma Lucas, Matt Hazell, and Lovro Sprem.
The tournament featured three preliminary rounds followed by a break to three finals corresponding with the positions 1 - 4; positions 5 - 8; and positions 9 - 12. Cambridge/Belgrade wins Zagreb Open

The team Dobra Zagrebancija (Tudor Musat, Miloš Marjanović; Cambridge/Belgrade) has won the Zagreb Open 2019. Out of Opening Government, they defeated Young, scappy and always hungry (Miri Muntean, Katrin Fallmann; Vienna) in Opening Opposition, Žižek (Matija Pušnik, Rok Hafner; Ljubljana) in Closing Government and Klatwa Czekana (Klaudia Maciejewska, Krzysztof Jaroń; Warsaw/Wroclaw) in Closing Opposition on the motion "This house believes that Marx would (have) approve(d) the internet".

EUDC 2014 – Break to the Finals
The break to the Finals at the European Universities Debating Championship 2014 has been announced.
In the ESL category, Berlin A, Lund A, Belgrade B and BBU A made it through the semi-finals with the motion "This house believes that leaders of minority religions in Europe should strongly encourage their congregations to refrain from public displays of their faith". In the Open break, Oxford A, Sheffield A, Nottingham A, and Edinburgh A won the semi-finals with the motion "THBT the US should invade and forceably partition Iraq".

After registration has closed, the Zagreb team announced the preliminary allocation of judge and team spots for EUDC 2014. On their facebook page they wrote:
"This is the preliminary list of teams and judges allocation for institutions that have registered to participate in Zagreb EUDC 2014: http://bit.ly/1hDHmXZ
The list is presented in alphabetical order for easier navigation. Institutions marked red are not eligible to compete at EUDC.
Institutions marked yellow:
a. it is unclear what institution (university) they have registered
b. the eligibility of the registered institution needs to be confirmed

Tab team for the Zagreb EUDC 2014 announced
The Organisation Committee of Zagreb EUDC 2014 has now announced the tab team of the tournament: It consists of Bob Nimmo, Richard Coates and Calum Wor.
On the EUDC 2014 website, the members of the team are introduced as follows:

Registration for Zagreb EUDC 2014 opens on Sunday
The registration for the Zagreb EUDC 2014 will start on Sunday, March 2nd at 12 o'clock CET and will be open for 24 hours. For the registration one should send a mail to zagreb.eudc.register@gmail.com. During the first phase of registration the convenors need the institution name, country, delegate representative name, contact e-mail and number of teams and judges.
Every institution will be granted one team. The distribution of the 2nd and 3rd teams will be similar to the procedure at WUDC, that is to say allocation will be according to the instition's performance (number of ESL and open breaks) at the ...

Registration policy for Zagreb EUDC 2014 announced
The Org Com of Zagreb EUDC 2014 has announced the date for the registration and the registration policy. On their website they say:
"Dear European Debating Community,Registration for all institutions that wish to participate in Zagreb EUDC 2014 will open on Sunday, March the 2nd, at 12:00 CET (Central European time). That is 11:00 London/Dublin/Lisbon, 12:00Belgrade/Paris/Amsterdam/Berlin, 13:00 Athens/Ankara/Tallinn and 14:00Moscow/Doha time.

The Europen Universities Debating Championship 2014 will take place from 18th - 24th August 2014 in the capital of Croatia Zagreb. The championsships will be organised by joint efforts of the Zagreb Deebating Union, Open Communication and Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

The day of reckoning is near - on New Year's Day, the WUDC Council is going to sit in Gaborone, Botswana, and decide over who will be hosting the World Universities Debating Championships (WUDC, or Worlds) in 2013. So far, two candidates from Europe bid for Worlds 2013: Berlin and Zagreb.

Hrvatsko Debatno Društvo -that is Croatian and means Croatian Debating Society. They are the convenors of the Zagreb Open on 10 and 11 December in the Croatian capital. Format will be British Parliamentary Style (BPS), there will be four prelims with five-minute speeches and a break to semis and finals. Chief adjudicator is Branka Marušić, Worlds finalist in EFL (English as a Foreign Language) in 2009 and 2010. Her deputy is going to be Filip Muki Dobranić, quarter-finalist in ESL (English a a second language) of this year's Worlds and European Champion and Best Speaker (ESL) at Amsterdam's Euros 2010.
