A VDCH*-team was the winner of the Manchester IV 2014: Lukas Thiel and Moritz Justen of Tilbury House Debating Society won the tournament in the category English as a Second Language (ESL). After four preliminary rounds, the team from Cologne was pitted against teams from Glasgow, Lund, and Dalarna in the position of Closing Opposition. Das clubinterne Winterturnier von Tilbury House Köln fand am 22. Januar im Neuen Senatssaal an der Universität zu Köln einen glänzenden Abschluss. Der neugewählte Präsident Tillman Schrammel führte die rund 75 Gäste und Tilburies durch den Abend. Die Finalmotion "This house would stop trying to reach international agreements on curbing green house gas emissions and instead prepare for climate change" gab Anlass zu einer hitzigen Debatte, bei der sich die Finalteams sowohl intellektuell als auch emotional verausgabten.
