The break of Streitkultur-Cup is here: The first team to break in Tübingen is Heidelberg Debating A (Sven Hirschfeld, Daniel Sommer, Franzi Kriegelstein), the second is Streitkultur Pheme (Peter Croonenbroeck, Anne Suffel, Jonathan Spanos). Free speakers breaking: Philipp Stiel, Lukas Windhager and Dominic Hildebrand.
The top-of-the-tab team Xavers Zamperl from Munich (Franziska Schuster-Städter, Almut Graebsch, Jan-Felix Schneider)were not eligible to break since the broke something else: the pro-am rule. The fresher in the team must not have started debating before September 2011.

Rain, rain, rain - all over Germany! But the brave debaters of the Boddencup never gave in and even did their BBQ in Greifswald. A short lesson on German geography: "Bodden are brackish bodies of water along the southwestern shores of the Baltic Sea, primarily in Germany's state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern around the island of Rügen," as Wikipedia has it. Overview: German Regional Championships 2011
The regional championships will take place from 16 to 17 April 2011 with exception of the South German Championship which will be held one week earlier.The Northern regionals will be hosted by Debattierclub Osnabrück, a society still not much older than a year. Convener of the Southern regionals is going to be Debattierclub Bayreuth which is located in Franconia. Host of the Eastern regionals will be Klartext Halle, acting Eastern regional champion and German debating champion of 2008. VDCH-speakers triumph at the ESL competition of SOAS IV 2010
The SOAS Debating Society continues to establish its IV as one of the largest debate competitions in Europe. On October 16th and 17th, 116 teams competed over six preliminary rounds at the School of African an Oriental Studies near King’s Cross in London. For VDCH-debaters, this was a particularly successful weekend.
The final was won by Harish Natarjan and Matilda Wnek (Cambridge H). They triumphed over Cambridge E (Maria English and Jack Watson), Loyola (Emily Ravencroft and Bobby Cashen) and KCL A (Daniel Berman and Jordan Anderson).

Auftaktveranstaltung der Hanse Debating Union Bremen
Nach einem Sieg gegen den FC Augsburg am Montagabend steht der FC St. Pauli nun praktisch als Aufsteiger in die Fußball-Bundesliga fest. Damit wird es im nächsten Jahr erstmals seit 2004 wieder zwei erstklassige Teams aus derselben Stadt geben. Im Debattieren ist das nichts Neues: Bereits seit Langem gibt es in Heidelberg zwei Vereine. Mit Beginn dieses Semesters darf sich auch Bremen zweier Debattierclubs rühmen: Zur etablierten JUB Debating Society an der Jacobs University gesellt sich die Hanse Debating Union an der Universität Bremen.
