Oxford wins Newcastle IV 2017
Oxford TS (Andrew Seow and Teck Wei Tan) won the Newcastle IV 2017 from Closing Opposition on the motion "This house supports the increasing secularisation of the world". The Newcastle IV 2017 took place on 25th and 26th November 2017. In the Open Final Oxford TS debated against St Andrews Sausage Bean and Cheese Melt (Ruth Batten and Duncan Bowyer) in Opening Government, Manchester was out of team spots (Jacklin Kwan and Rudolfs Treilis) in Opening Opposition and Sheffield SS (Areeb Sherwani and Leon Stone) in Closing Opposition. The panel came to an unanimous decision.

Newcastle Open 2010
Nur "mixed doubles" dürfen beim Newcastle Open 2010 antreten, das am 21. und 22. Juni in Newcastle upon Tyne im Nordosten Englands ausgetragen wird. Das heißt: Die Zweierteam setzen sich geschlechtergemischt zusammen. Fünf Vorrunden, Halbfinale und Finale mit geschlossenen Themen sind geplant. Die Teilnahme kostet 20 Britische Pfund (umgerechnet etwa 22 Euro) pro Team aus VDCH-Land. Juroren zahlen keinen Teilnahmebeitrag. Format ist BPS, Debattensprache englisch. Update 5. April: Oskar Avery teilt mit, dass als Chefjuroren Ruth Faller und Can Okar gewonnen werden konnten. Die Anmeldung ist eröffnet und mittels Onlineformular möglich.
