One weekend, many motions

This weekend, VDCH debaters took part in tournaments in Stuttgart and Leeds. On top of that, our neighbors in the Netherlands have also been competing at a tournament. EUDC 2012 – Two bids and a hoaxLet the competition begin: Two cities bid for hosting the European Universities Debating Championships (EUDC or Euros) 2012. The bidders are Leeds from the English county West Yorkshire and the Serbian captial Belgrade. In addition to that, there's an alleged bid from London's BPP Debating Society - rumour has it that this a hoax. Belgrade composed a prominent team. Convenor is Milan Vignjević. His bid is backed-up by the University of Belgrade. Leeds IV 2011

The University of Leeds will be the venue of the Leeds IV 2011. The tournament will be held on 12 and 13 March 2011, debating style is BPS. The debaters will run through five preliminary rounds with seven minute speeches. Sunday will stage semi finals and finals. Chief adjudicator is Doug Cochran from Cambridge University, well known to those who had been at the Euros recently where he functioned as deputy chief adjudicator.
