“I can chancellor” – Allison Jones in the final of the TV show
The German public broadcaster ZDF is featuring a TV show named "I can chancellor". Allison Jones, a debater of Debattierclub Johannes Gutenberg from Mainz, made it to the final which will be broadcasted on May 1. See what she thinks on child beenfits and the like and watch the YouTube video featuring the four finalists.

Debaters from Mainz taught a debating class in a secondary school in Sulzbach (Germany), this time for the second time. Their commitment is based on a cooperation between the Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium and the debating society in Mainz, Debattierclub Johannes Gutenberg.

Stuttgart Punk – A teaser on the upcoming ZEIT DEBATTE
After five prelims, team Freiburg Türme, Zsolt Szilagyi and Friedemann Groth, won the final of Stuttgart Punk on the past weekend. The motion read "Dieses Haus würde Vegetarier werden", or this house would become vegetarian. Best speaker of the final was Clemens Fucker from Debattierclub Johannes Gutenberg Mainz. Chief adjudicators Sarah Kempf, Nils Haneklaus and Andreas Lazar made up motions for five prelims and a final:
1. Vorrunde: Dieses Haus würde Einwanderern die Staatsbürgerschaft verleihen, wenn sie im Einwanderungsland Militärdienst geleistet haben.
2. Vorrunde: Dieses Haus würde Handelsbeziehungen mit Ländern abbrechen, in denen Christen verfolgt werden.

Streitkultur Tübingen old and new titelholder “Master of Jokes“
Pauline Leopold, Peter Croonenbroeck and Christoph Krakowiak from Streitkultur Tübingen scored the title “Master of Jokes”. Second time in a row, they won the Gutenberg Cup, the annual tournament of Debattierclub Johannes Gutenberg Mainz (DCJG). The motion of the final round reads “Do we need a new Robin Hood?”, where the debaters from Tübingen defeated a home team from Mainz. Jens Fischer won the Masters' Cup 2010 of Deutsche Debattiergesellschaft (DDG), the German Debating Society for Alumni.
