The International Debate Academy Slovenia (IDAS) will be held from November 23^rd to December 1^st. You can attend the instructional week and the British Parliamentary debate tournament. The weeks consists of a full program for trainers, teachers, coaches, club leaders, judges at any level in any debate format. If not interested in the whole programme, you may apply for the tournament only. The application deadline is the 30^th of October. The whole event costs 340 euros, the tournament-only option 80 euros.

As displayed by the picture above, participants will be accommodated in Hotel Špik, in the impressive ambient of Kranjska Gora.

Results

IDAS is mainly an event, where debaters can sharpen their skills in persuasion and argumentation. The results speak for themselves. Here are some statistics about former IDAS participants and their performance at the WUDC in Berlin.

• 9 of 16 breaking teams in EFL, 6 of 8 teams in semi-finals of EFL
• 2 of 4 teams in the finals of EFL, and the Winner!
• 4 of 16 breaking teams in ESL, ESL semi-finalist!
• 15 breaking judges were IDAS faculty or students.

 Trainers 

• Filip Dobranic, Ljubljana University, Slovenia: EUDC ESL Champion, WUDC EFL Top Speaker, WUDC ESL Top Speaker, EUDC DCA 2013, WUDC ESL Finalist 2011. IDAS graduate.
• Andreas Lazar, Stuttgart, Germany: Top EFL Speaker WUDC 2011, ESL semifinalist at WUDC 2011, fifteen time IV winner or finalist.
• Julia Mikič, Croatia: Debater since 2001; chief adjudicator / head trainer for Croatia 2005-2010; held a number of debate workshops and trainings in Croatia and internationally; EUDC breaking judge; took part at four EUDCs and one WUDC.
• Dr. Arlan Narvaez, Venezuela: leading debate promoter and organizer in Latin America, as a coach his teams from Universidad Central de Venezuela have reached the EFL finals and semifinals at WUDC, broke four teams at Spanish language WUDC CMUDE 2013.
• Dr. Alfred Snider, USA: Professor at University of Vermont, Director World Debate Institute, USA Coach of the Year, six recent debate textbooks, WUDC breaking judge, Convener USU 2009 & 2011 & Chief Adjudicator 2012 US Universities Debating Championship tournament, founder of IDAS.
