Sieger des ESL-Finales ist das Team Tel Aviv A (Dan Lahav, Ayal Hayut-man) aus der Schließenden Regierung gegen die Teams Tel Aviv C (Tom Manor, Noam Dahan) in der Eröffnenden Regierung, Leiden D (Lisa Schallenberg, Simon Martina-Perez) in der Eröffnenden Opposition und Leiden A (Floris Holstege, Emma Lucas) in der Schließenden Opposition. Start der EUDC 2016 in Warschau
Von heute bis kommenden Samstag (14.-20.08.) findet in Warschau die European University Debating Championship (EUDC) 2016 statt. Es ist nach der Weltmeisterschaft das größte Debattierturnier der Welt und wird in diesem Jahr von der Foundation Poland Debates (Fundacja Polska Debatuje), dem University of Warsaw Debate Club (Klub Debat) und dem Warsaw School of Economics Debate Club (SKN KLUB DEBAT SGH) organisiert. Der Zeitplan beinhaltet neun Vorrunden, sowie Auscheidungsrunden in den zwei Sprachkategorien "Open" und "English as a Second Language (ESL)". Wie üblich stehen auch einige Partys, offizielle Abendessen und ein Treffen des EUDC-Council auf dem Programm.

Leiden Open 2015
For the eleventh time, the Leiden Debating Union will host the Leiden Open. The tournament will last from February 28 to March 1 and features five preliminary rounds and breaks into semi-finals as well as a novice final. The tournament will be on Saturday and Sunday, but there will be a social on Friday night. A detailed schedule will be announced soon on the tournament’s facebook event.
There will be one Chief Adjudicator (CA) with three Deputy Chief Adjudicators (DCAs):

Skopje Open
It is the first international debating tournament in British Parliamentary Style (BPS) in Macedonia: Skopje Open will take place on the weekend of November 7-9, 2014. Up to 32 teams can register now. The tournament costs €50 per participant, including accommodation in a hotel and three meals per day, organiser Milka Gerovska says. For people arriving early because they directly come from Thessaloniki Open on the preceding weekend, the organisers will provide with crash accommodation or a cheap hostel.

EUDC 2014 – Winners and Top Speakers
The European Universities Debate Champions 2014 have been announced. In the category English as a Second Language, Stefan Siridzanski and Helena Ivanov from Belgrade B in Opening Opposition won the debate with the motion „This house would, assuming it was technically feasible, remove the ability of soldiers to feel fear.”
In the Open final, Adam Hawksbee and Matthew Willmore from Sheffield A in Closing Opposition were able to beat their competitors in a debate with the motion „This house believes that the feminist movement should oppose military interventions that claim to further women's rights.”

Tel Aviv wins BBU Open 2014
Yael Bell and Dan Lahav have won the first BBU Open that took place from the 11th to the 13th July 2014 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The team from Tel Aviv won from Closing Opposition in a debate with the motion: You are a scientist. You have discovered absolute conclusive proof that God does not exist. This house would destroy the information.

Cambridge wins Paris Open 2014, Lund wins ESL final
Ashish Kumar and Michael Dunn Goekjian have won the Paris Open 2014. The final jury unanimously decided that the team from Cambridge prevailed as Opening Opposition to the following motion: This House supports the unlimited use of war-time propaganda which aims to dehumanise the enemy. The Top of the tab team Pascal A (Alon van Dam, Harish Natarajan) was in Opening Government, Belgrade A (Helena Ivanov, Stefan Siridžansky) spoke in Closing Government, and Matthew Willmore and Scott Ralston from the team Wigglypuf in Closing Opposition.
